Extended Biography
Approximately 90 seconds · Events & conferences
Eric Pfeifer, N1JUR, is an amateur radio operator, content creator, and community advocate based in Southern New Hampshire.
Through his N1JUR brand and YouTube channel, Eric shares the practical, adventurous, and sometimes unpredictable side of amateur radio, with a particular focus on portable operating, Parks on the Air (POTA), equipment experimentation, and helping operators become more active in the hobby.
His content includes field activations, hands-on equipment reviews, educational videos, and livestreams such as Brew & Activate, where operators come together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore the challenges and opportunities facing amateur radio.
While creating content is a big part of what he does, Eric believes that the real strength of amateur radio is its community.
As an active member and Membership Coordinator of the Granite State Amateur Radio Association, he supports club engagement, outreach, and opportunities to bring operators together. His involvement also includes introducing young people to amateur radio through STEM education, hands-on demonstrations, and youth radio programs.
Eric regularly participates in club presentations, community events, and discussions exploring topics such as portable communications, emergency preparedness, radio technology, and how amateur radio can remain relevant to future generations.
Whether he's operating from a park, experimenting with new equipment, speaking to a room full of radio operators, or helping a young person make their first contact, Eric's goal remains the same: make amateur radio more accessible, more engaging, and a hobby people want to participate in.
Through N1JUR, he encourages operators to experiment, get involved with their communities, and spend more time actually getting on the air.
