Have a Club Story Worth Sharing?
Break & Build is looking for clubs, leaders, organizers, educators, creators, and everyday hams who are trying things that help amateur radio communities grow.
If your club ran an event that worked, welcomed new operators in a meaningful way, built a better mentoring path, reached youth, modernized outreach, or learned something useful by trying something new — I want to hear about it.
Who Should Submit?
You do not need to have a perfect club, a giant membership list, or a polished media operation. Break & Build is about useful ideas other hams and clubs can learn from.
Stronger Communities
Stories about increasing participation, welcoming newer operators, building better meetings, or creating a more active club culture.
Activities That Worked
Field days, POTA meetups, fox hunts, build nights, STEM demos, public service events, school programs, or creative club activities.
Helping New Hams
Ideas that helped new licensees get on the air, find confidence, meet people, or move from “licensed” to actually active.
Modernizing the Message
Websites, newsletters, livestreams, social media, youth outreach, community partnerships, and better ways to explain why ham radio still matters.
Give Me the Useful Stuff Up Front
The best submissions are clear, specific, and focused on what others can learn. It does not have to be fancy. It just needs enough context to understand the story.
- Your name, callsign, and club or group name
- What your club or group tried
- What problem or opportunity you were trying to address
- What worked, what changed, or what you learned
- Why other clubs might benefit from hearing the story
- Any links, photos, flyers, event pages, or examples that help explain it
This Is Not a Complaint Box
Break & Build is not about dunking on clubs or turning every episode into a meeting-minute autopsy. The goal is positive, useful, honest conversation.
Bring the lesson. Bring the idea. Bring the story that might help another club try something better.
Tell Me What Your Club Is Building
Use the form below to suggest a guest, club, event, outreach idea, mentoring effort, or community-building story for Break & Build.
The more specific you are, the easier it is to understand whether the idea fits the show.
One Good Club Idea Can Help the Whole Hobby
Break & Build is about sharing what is working, encouraging collaboration, and helping amateur radio clubs and communities learn from one another.
If your club has a story, an idea, a lesson, or a guest who belongs in that conversation, send it in.
When Clubs Share What Works, Everybody Wins
Every club is different, but the best ideas often travel well. Break & Build is where those ideas can be shared, adapted, and put to work across the hobby.
